A Simple DIY Snow Globe is such an easy and delightful craft! Follow these step-by-step instructions to create a glittery snow globe out of a mason jar, glue, water, and your choice of figurines.

I just love how these cute snow globes came together, featuring some of our favorite Frozen characters, Olaf and Anna! Making a snow globe was on my grandkids top 10 craft list. They loved choosing objects to put in their jars and putting it all together.

I loved seeing their faces when they shook their snow globes and watched the glitter fall. This is a perfect craft for a personal time with your kids or for a party. Make one for yourself or for a gift while you’re at it! You’ll love how easy this project is.

Plus, you probably have most of the supplies already on hand:
– Glass jar- Collect a variety of sizes of jars from recycling. Clear glass works best.
– Small items that fit upright in the jar- Christmas ornament or small figurine.
– Glitter- Use a color(s) of Glitter that fits with your figurine.
– Distilled water- Distilled Water is without minerals and such that create “floaties”.
– Clear glue- A clear glue like Elmer’s Glue, Clear is used to thicken the water.
– Hot glue gun- This is for gluing your figures into place. A Hot glue gun glue does not dissolve in water!

I’m about to do one of these snow globes, but I’ve a question: I’m going to use some basically "2d" wooden figures, should I somehow cover/protect them [and how?] before butting them in the water to prevent… I don’t know, that they rot or are destroyed by the time they will stay in the water?

Will tinfoil work? I have trees that have wood on the bottom and if I cover it with aluminum foil or tinfoil will it stick?

I’m ready for the final step in my jars except… I used a spare jar to put in distilled water and glycerin (which I had on hand instead of clear glue)/ The only problem is that most of my glitter clumps together at the top of the water. Do I need to put in more water? Could it be the type of glitter? Surely most glitter just sinks to the bottom. Just not mine! Help!
