Today I’d like to talk about Alaska fish fertilizer. This is a wonderful organic product that works great on vegetables, perennials, shrubs, and trees. It’s a 5-1-1 fertilizer and what this means is as five percent nitrogen, one percent phosphorous, one percent potassium. It delivers all the primary and secondary nutrients the plants need to grow healthy and strong and it also nourishes the beneficial microorganisms that are in the soil. The right nutrition delivered at the right time is so important for the health of your plants. And remember that healthy happy plants also are more resistant to disease and insect pressures. Tomatoes that have been fertilized with Alaska can grow up to two times larger than non fertilized plants. Applying Alaska 5-1-1 is easy. Just use a watering can and mix two tablespoons of the product with every one gallon of water. Apply Alaska 5-1-1. Every three weeks during the growing season. Remember that Alaska fish fertilizers are 100 percent organic and they’ve been certified by the Organic Materials Review Institute. Find Alaska 5-1-1 and other great Alaska Fertilizers at your lawn and garden retailer.

I bought this and it looks like thick chocolate syrup. Is this normal? Itโ€™s hard to shake.

This significantly lowers the PH of your water. It dropped my gallon of water from a oh of 7 to 4. If you need a specific ph or your plants don’t seem to be growing as expected you should check your water after adding this. Other than that great product.

If you have racoons or other such animals they will come from far and wide when they smell the fish and will dig up the plants also the chemical analysis of fish fertilizers is not compelling extremely high sodium and low almost everything else. Fish processing results in lots of leftovers and that is what fish fertilizer is , a waste product promoted as fertilizer , would be OK if you got it free like the makers of most fish fertilizers do.

This stuff works great. My only advice would be to wear gloves lol The stuff smells and the stink stays on your hands and on the container you use it in. Other than that I’ve used this for years and it really does great.

I’m glad I came across this video as I wasn’t sure how to apply it. It lists square footage application and house plant application but I’m growing in pots. How in the world would I figure out the square footage of my many different sized outdoor pots!. They need to change the label to include the concentration you mentioned.

Will this work with miracle grow potting soil or will the chemicals kill any benefit from organic fertilizers?

Have you ever used fish emulsion through drip irrigation? I have a fertilizer injector installed. According to the directions of fish emulsion itโ€™s 2 tablespoons to 1 gallon of water fertilizes 25 square feet. Now Iโ€™m fertilizing about 240 square feet. From my math I need to add about a cup and a quarter to the injector reservoir. My next question is how much fish emulsion is too much or how much can burn the plants?
