DIY Master Bedroom King Bed Build #diy #diywoodworking

This DIY bed was my first major DIY home project 🛌. I built this king sized bed for our master bedroom when I was 16 weeks pregnant with my daughter (with some help because of weight restrictions 😅).

I wanted a bed that would be accessible the kids, so I did that by planning little foot steps (adding 1x2s) on the side boards.

Sometimes you might wonder how to DIY or how to start DIY. The first step is thinking of a need or a want! Sometimes it might depend on aesthetics, but many times you want to begin a DIY home improvement is because you need for more function.

In my case, I wanted to create functional side boards that allow my kids to be able to get into our bed easily.

Knowing how to use DIY tools and power tools may be intimidating, but I’ve shared my top tools for starting your DIY project.

You don’t have to build an entire bed frame with a headboard, sideboards, and footboard… just a DIY headboard can make such an impact 😊.
