A Native American Sculpture That’s Larger Than Life
‘The Eagle and the Chief’ is a striking example of contemporary native American art. Carved from Alaskan red cedar, it’s 22 feet tall and weighs around 3,000 pounds.

Wow. When I went to Washington D.C. I was on the bus and we drove past this building in favor of the Black History museum. This looks so much more interesting.
Native American art is so underrated. I wish seeing them was more commonplace in New York where I’m from.

Wow!! Fascinating just mesmerizing!🙂
the only issue with this museum is the name. we need to stop calling them "indians". "ancient americans" or something
