Creative Memories Old vs New Album Pages

Creative Memories Old vs New Album Pages

What’s the difference between the new Creative Memories Album pages? The originals were 11.5×12 and the new ones are true 12×12. See details on my blog!

This was very helpful. I just bought my first CM album in over a decade and was wondering what the difference between old and new style is.

Thank you so much for sharing this album and page compare. I had a customer recently ask about original albums vs. New albums with older pages. I got the answer but it is very nice to see it (I’m a visual person).

Great video! Enjoyed seeing the older pictures. I am planning on doing Heritage albums. I am excited but overwhelmed with the stuff that I have. I have been going through my grandparents photos and they had a lot. They were both born in the 1920’s and raised during the great depression and they saved everything. I have most all of their pictures, other than some that I gave to my Aunt’s, Uncle’s and cousins (baby and childhood pictures of themselves). I also have almost all of my great grandparents pictures and even some that belonged to my 2nd great grandparents. I have photos that date from the late 1800’s to current times. I have them roughly sorted in boxes at the moment. My plan is to do three albums. One of my grandfather growing up and his extended family, one of my grandmother growing up and her extended family, and then one of my grandparents meeting, getting married, WW2 and raising a family. Hope to get started soon. Do you happen to have any heritage albums that you could share? I would greatly appreciate it. I am sure that there are many others in the same boat who have tons of pictures and have no idea what to do with them. Thank you again!

I see this an older video but I am wondering if you use the new pages in the old album will the page extend beyond the cover (stick out)?

My mom had an old purple album just like the old one in this video. However, it’s missing it’s spine cover! I’d love to use it for my wedding pictures, but I need a new spine for it. I can see on the Creative Memories site that I can order a new spine, and even have it embossed, but I don’t know which colour to select! What colour would match the best?

Hello, is there a difference between the 12×12 True pages from 2008 and the 12×12 ones today in 2024? Or are these still the same? (I know the old original "Premiere" ones were slightly smaller in size from way back when). If I buy a new 12×12 album today, are the 2008 True pages right for it/the same as new pages I would buy now?

I much prefer the newer true 12×12, though I have both. The true 12×12 came out awhile ago, before they restructured CM during the time I was a consultant. The harder sides are called the jeeping. 🙂 I have been buying CM products (and sold it for awhile) since 1999. Their albums, by far, are the best. When they disappeared for a bit a handful or so years ago, I was so bummed. I ended up buying WeRMemoryKeepers albums. Not my favorite. New straps can be bought. And if their warranty is like it was many years ago, there is a lifetime warranty on the book covers.

Thanks so much! That was very helpful. I was given a bunch of old 12×12 pages and was unsure how they would look in the new ones. Now I know:)

I have an album even older than that. It has the cutouts on the front & back covers to accommodate the plastic straps. My one and only book has sat 1/2 done in a closet for 15 years. I finally finished it, bought some page protectors (that needed to be trimmed, no big deal) and also bought a spine cover (that I found out after buying it) that it can’t be used on that old album. I’m thinking of trying to cut slits in it to take the straps, but would probably ruin it. So, I guess I’ll have to buy a new album, can’t match the color (the spine color matched my book!), and will have to transfer the pages to the new book. Moral of story: don’t let projects sit around 1/2 finished!
