Because quinoa is really high in protein, higher than some meat and red meat will cause gout, especially if you eat too much of it

  2. @mistygoodson4025 on June 23, 2025 at 4:17 pm

Look into cherries, it helped my husband a lot with his gout. We start him on cherry Greek yogurt if he starts to have a flare up

  3. @christyvwperry9423 on June 23, 2025 at 4:18 pm

On the topic of gout. My hubby suffers from this. Alkaline water is very good at keeping those flair ups away. Sour cherry suppliments also

I use buttermilk powder in my sourdough items, bread, biscuits, English muffins etc.. I just sift/mix it into the flour mix before I add any liquids. I purchase it in bulk and separate it into lunch paper bags then into a vacuum seal bag then mylar bag. You don’t have to store it this way however it just works for me, I store a cup of powder in each bag. I have buttermilk powder that has expired 6 months ago but it is perfectly good, I have never had any go rancid when I store it this way.

Please be careful about Azure orders and where you pick them up…..the thieving trolls have robbed people of their orders…you’re defenseless when you have children or are alone and vulnerable loading and not being aware who is around….no better place to shop good products then from your truck or drop off site…just saying

  8. @kikomartin-pr on June 23, 2025 at 4:26 pm

    Very informative. Thank you.

  9. @meme7591 on June 23, 2025 at 4:31 pm

Bok choy is very good for that too not having soy is good as well unless it’s organic nothing GMO try to stay away from the night vegetables stay away from gluten. Now quinoa my sister made me a chocolate cake out of that you have to pulverize it. It was pretty good I couldn’t really tell the difference there’s a little bit of a texture difference but other than that it was good. But they say bok choy is very good for issues with gout. And low protein.

Hi, please just be careful of the mylar bags and the taste of the food. Is there another storage option than the mylar. Just dont want you or others to go through all those expenses of buying the food and it doesnt taste good. Just be careful!

My husband has problem eating beans, he had a hard time digesting them! Adzuki beans, Lentils and Ansazi beans are easier to digest and he could eat them! They give you less gas! They can be cooked like red kidney beans and taste similar!

😊 thank you for sharing. I love your channel and glad you asked about the buttermilk. I bought a bag bigger than we need and was trying to figure out how to best store it.

I love that you sort your order. Don’t get me wrong Christmas style is fun but sometimes I am trying to take notes😉

  18. @babyfurball on June 23, 2025 at 4:38 pm

You can make buttermilk by adding lemon juice to milk. Google it and it will give you the measurements.

I love the way you break down your Azure hauls! So easy to follow and truly appreciate the “why” & utility that you share for each item. Helps me understand if it’s something I may want to consider for my own family!

  21. @meme7591 on June 23, 2025 at 4:41 pm

Have you thought of using the brown mason jars for herbs

  22. @Mindy56743 on June 23, 2025 at 4:43 pm

I go get my order tomorrow and the honey will not be in the order😭

  23. @finishedwithsalt317 on June 23, 2025 at 4:45 pm

I really appreciate the category format that you shared your haul in. Very easy to follow! We love adzuki beans, they are my go to chili bean because they cook faster than a larger bean and I like a more evenly sized bean to meat ratio. 🙂

  24. @leahdusenberry9765 on June 23, 2025 at 4:46 pm

I would like to see what all you cook with all that food and everything on your shelf it’s just interesting and would be delighted to get some new recipes

  25. @lynne_c on June 23, 2025 at 4:49 pm

I’m brand new to Azure, so i’m learning. If more people were ordering to your drop, would it help spread the cost out? Even though the total shipping would go up some, maybe recruiting more people to your drop would help?

Quinoa is not a grain but a seed.

I always rinse before cooking as it has a coating that tastes soapy.
    I use interchangeably with rice.
I simply love the little spiral germ when cooked.

Where did you get your apron from?

  33. @alicerobinson1173 on June 23, 2025 at 5:01 pm

Popcorn – I just got a silicone microwave popper. It works great for one or two people. Stores small & I put coconut oil and sea salt in it. If you have a big group use a pot.

  34. @margueritag.1993 on June 23, 2025 at 5:01 pm

Pink beans can be substituted for small red bean. Gran preferred them there skin is not as tough.

  35. @michelledavis7333 on June 23, 2025 at 5:02 pm

if you can afford it, you might want to invest in a freeze dryer. A channel I like to watch is called living simply in Alaska. They have a huge green house and a garden. You just have to know what zone you live in to know what plants will grow in your area.
Becky from the channel acre homestead also freeze dries milk, beef and chicken broth which makes them into powder form.

Love your pantry tours. Seeing how you organize into categories in both your pantry and the Azure hauls gives me ideas.

Hi, I’ve been watching you for a few months now and wondered about an update on if it is more affordable to buy through Azure or local?
I’m a young widow moving the kids and I up come spring ’23 after we sell our home and find a place there. (Getting SOOO anxious about it.). I have been wondering about adding additional dry foods to bring with us when we move and would appreciate any tips or advice.
We are looking at the Wasilla area after learning Google maps aren’t up to par on time it takes and Willow would be too far of a drive for work options.
How is Verizon cell service there in the valley and Anchorage? I work from home and need good internet.
    Thank you! ~Honey

  44. @tracyappelo4593 on June 23, 2025 at 5:09 pm

Did you check prices at the natural pantry in anchorage?

  45. @Theaterverslaafde on June 23, 2025 at 5:09 pm

I also recently discover the adzuki beans and I did love them in a salade

    I 😍 your kitchen floor!

  47. @kallysue1636 on June 23, 2025 at 5:11 pm

  48. @patriciawussow372 on June 23, 2025 at 5:14 pm

    you offer such great advice!

  49. @debbieorazi2518 on June 23, 2025 at 5:15 pm

My stepmother has gout too. Her doctor has her removing all alcohol from her diet and limiting red meat. He also suggested cherry juice and cherries.

Perhaps you make cooking video’s too.
