โœ… Day 1-3 (1X Daily)

Add 1 tbsp water + 1 tbsp flour

โœ… Day 4 onwards (2X Daily)

Add 1 tbsp water + 1 tbsp flour

And thatโ€™s it, no more confusion about how much to discard!

It took 8 days for the starter to double at an average proofing temperature of 25C

Try it and let me know if the merhod works for you!

PS:

Its best to store your starter in a warm place (25-28C) to encourage fermentation.

  28. @xunjiakoo4030 on May 12, 2025 at 12:04 pm

I still cannot believe a 10:1:1 ratio of feeding on day 7 onwards will make it double, is this really legit?

  29. @favianalatorre1836 on May 12, 2025 at 12:05 pm

Geez, finally, a video on how to make the freaking starter ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ™Œ ๐Ÿ‘Œ

  34. @aaldelphia8272 on May 12, 2025 at 12:14 pm

  35. @strange_celestial on May 12, 2025 at 12:15 pm

    what we do next lol

  36. @loratatum1793 on May 12, 2025 at 12:15 pm

Than you so much for this!

  37. @cl230 on May 12, 2025 at 12:16 pm

Thereโ€™s no need to have this much counter starter unless youโ€™re baking for an army? I prefer lots of discard because those get used so much making endless discard recipes. Nothing is wasted and you always have fresh perfect size starter for bread in the counter (without it exploding everywhere)

  38. @SMDCPHResidences on May 12, 2025 at 12:19 pm

    Thank you!

  39. @Seraphina_Atley on May 12, 2025 at 12:20 pm

I have felt terrible discarding half each day! Why are people still pushing cups of flour and water??! Trying this next time, thank you so much.

  40. @NostalgicallyBeautiful on May 12, 2025 at 12:24 pm

Itโ€™s been so cold, I canโ€™t get my starter to .. start.

Even placing it in the warm oven doesnโ€™t work. I tried my heating pad, nothing. Warm window sill, nothing.

Iโ€™m using KA Bread Flour (Unbleached) and bottled water. Thatโ€™s it. And nothing.
Itโ€™s consistently 68 in the house, sometimes 70-72.

    So frustrating ๐Ÿ™

  41. @pattitolan9012 on May 12, 2025 at 12:27 pm

How much starter do you use for a loaf of bread?

  42. @jayetachoudhury8945 on May 12, 2025 at 12:27 pm

some one please share a no nonsense sourdough emmer wheat video too

  43. @Mrs.Hossine on May 12, 2025 at 12:29 pm

Leave in roome temperature or in freeze?

  44. @evitrasaldanha662 on May 12, 2025 at 12:29 pm

Can you give me recipe to make the bread using this starter.

  45. @Pokerface-123 on May 12, 2025 at 12:29 pm

    I have started itโ€™s day 4

  46. @jasonfuson1582 on May 12, 2025 at 12:31 pm

This method works 1 and 1 works for the first 3 days after that 2 and 2 table spoon of flour and water if you feed twice daily you never need to refrigerate your start just disagard and add new flour

  47. @jennifer.luo92 on May 12, 2025 at 12:32 pm

My tablespoon of flour and water do not create the dough form in your video, but more a pool of liquid. Am I using the worng flour or something?

  48. @icebear9725 on May 12, 2025 at 12:35 pm

thank you for this video.. It’s been a long time since I’ve wanted to make sourdough bread but I’m worried about discarding..

  49. @Ambimags. on May 12, 2025 at 12:37 pm

I will give it a try.

  50. @widiwidyastutiwardani7901 on May 12, 2025 at 12:37 pm
